I think that you are kicking the air on the whole podcasting notion. If you order a carbonated beverage in the south, you order a Coke. If you want to blow your nose, you ask for a Kleenex. The idea that things shouldn't be known by the company names that made the products popular is being a bit over the top. It's a podcast because the iPod (which is still in very wide use) made listening to recorded internet radio shows a household name. You can call it whatever you like, and make the media available on whatever stream you like, but it will still be a podcast. If you find that upsetting, grab a Kleenex, drink a Coke and listen to your favorite show.
